The Idea behind the Smile
National Smile month was found in a few places designated as occuring in the month of August however nothing official seems to show up. The Dental Associations seemed to have adopted the idea for May, June or July with no consistency either. National Smile Month seems to be a floating month and as August has no holiday I just decided to create a campaign to Smile more in August.
I found that smiling is the first step to laughter anyway so for those that are in a place that laughter does not feel comfortable, lets increase that smile and enjoy the many benefits one can have from doing so. Doing it day by day increases its importance and for those that wish to have a little fun...a smiling month has just begun!
Keeping it simple seemed the objective so creating a calendar of daily smiles was the next step and adding some facts, figures and creative ideas to each day the calendar was constructed and the game afoot. A blog was created to create a daily suggestion where others could read from and a comment section was included so an evening follow up on the ways it was applied as well as the opportunity for others to share too.
